The Community Council provides leadership that brings the community together to create a sustainable quality of life for everyone in BC’s Capital Region.
It provides social infrastructure services to all sectors and is the convenor of multi-sector collaborations related to food security, housing affordability, families, early child development, transportation, sustainable incomes and poverty reduction.
Attracting funding to support this important work has always been challenging. Current trends to reduce and eliminate “core” funding – that is the essential elements that keep our doors open, from rent and overhead to administrative staff – are having a dramatic impact on the non-profit sector.
At the Community Council, we have taken on project delivery and revenue-generating services to support the core operations and meet our organizational mandate. But, like many organizations, we experience a shortfall in trying to replace the core funding dollars that we are losing.
Memberships and donations are important sources of revenue. Your investment in the work of the Community Council leverages additional matching dollars. And investments in the Community Council are tax-deductible.
