Pathways to Success for Youth in BC’s Capital Region: The Power and Potential of Social EnterpriseBC Centre for Employment Excellence has recently released the report: ‘Pathways to Success for Youth in BC’s Capital Region: The Power and Potential of Social Enterprise’, prepared for the BC Centre for Employment Excellence by the Community Social Planning Council of Greater Victoria.

The report identifies several different social enterprise approaches, partnership models and best practices in creating employment opportunities for young people. It finds that transitional employment social enterprises are most prevalent and most appropriate in working with young people. Transitional employment social enterprises are most effective when strong partnerships with mainstream employers and existing labour market programs are in place.

There is a strong expressed interest and willingness among interview and focus group respondents to build the partnerships needed to create a successful and intentional employment initiative.
